Nicole Johnson, Miss America 1999, was quoted as saying, "(Being Miss America is) not about glamorous Hollywood events.  It's being with real people in small-town America performing the greatest kind of service that you can perform as an individual -- giving of yourself, sharing your heart, your love, and your time."  This statement represents the belief of the entire Miss America system, and Miss Berks County is certainly no exception.   She is an intelligent, successful, talented and service-oriented young woman who is making a difference every year in our community.

The photos below represent only a few of the appearances and service efforts of some of our more recent titleholders.  It is our hope that you will see there is much more to holding the title of Miss Berks County than simply wearing the coveted crown and walking across the stage on one special evening.
