Deborah (Green) Butcher
Cash scholarships earned from 5 years in the Miss
America
Program=
Miss Berks County 1996, Debbie became 1st runner-up at the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant and
was a preliminary swimwear finalist. She presented a vocal interpretation of
"If I Loved You" for her talent competition and advocated her platform,
"Speak Out," which encourages children suffering from speech disorders to
overcome their disabilities. Debbie proceeded to compete in the National Sweetheart
Pageant, held in Hoopston, Illinois, where she was a Top Ten finalist. Debbie has
also represented York County (1994), South Central PA (1995), Cumberland Valley (1997) and
York County (1998). Debbie is a graduate of Kutztown University, with a degree in
both Music and Speech Communications and is presently employed as
Director of Communications for Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council.
In June 2000, she married Scott Butcher, and they currently reside in
York, Pennsylvania.
